October is just around the corner, which is when you can enjoy all the states of cinema during the 9th American Film Festival. The program includes hits from Sundance and Tribeca festivals, and a new film from Gus Van Sant, Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot.
At AFF you can watch films from the USA, produced outside the Hollywood commercial mainstream. The program features hits from festivals like Sundance or Tribeca, films that present an alternative approach to cinema. The 9th American Film Festival will include Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot, the latest film by Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Elephant) - starring Joaquin Phoenix in a story about the famously acerbic John Callahan, one of the most famous American cartoonists.
This year's program also features Leave No Trace by Debra Granik, which premiered at Sundance and offers a portrait of a father and daughter who, in order to flee civilization, decide to live in the forest. Leave No Trace played to rave reviews and is one of the few films that enjoy a 100% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
